Tell us about yourself, who is Leanne?

My name is Leanne (she/her)! I'm from the Cleveland, Ohio area and have been living in California for 7.5 years, but I am about to move back to Cleveland for a bit to build a van into a home and pursue full-time vanlife! I've always been outdoorsy and love rock climbing, hiking, and visiting new places. I’ve worked in the craft beer industry for 9 years, but have recently making some changes that can allow me to work remote so that I can travel more easily!

When do you feel like your most authentic self?

Being bisexual, it took me a while to not only recognize my sexuality, but also feel confident in parts of the community. Over the recent years, I’ve felt so much more authentically myself by surrounding myself with more queer friends and dating queer folks of all genders. Until I started actively creating and seeking community, I hadn’t realized just how much more myself I felt when surrounded by people who just inherently understand that piece of my identity.

Existing as a queer person in the US is becoming increasingly more difficult. How do you remain positive in today's climate?

I mean, it’s definitely a challenge at times to stay informed and aware of detrimental legislation changes across our country while remaining hopeful. I find comfort in my immediate community and communities online that allow me to stay grounded in knowing that queer people will always have each other to lean on. Throughout the years of adversity that our community has faced, queer folks have continued to move forward knowing that we have each other. I’m hopeful that through community building both on and offline, we’re able to make our voices louder than ever to influence positive change for future generations.

What is most important to you when shopping for clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident?

Fit and functionality are so important to me for activewear. When I’m wearing something that covers me enough when I’m moving around, I spend less time worrying and feel more confident in whatever I’m doing. Knowing that my clothes are well-made, versatile, and can keep up with my activities is really reassuring!

Favorite piece from our new collection?

I loooove the new Anywhere Shorts! The zipper pocket keeps me from losing my keys on a hike and the adjustable waist makes them fit just the way I need them to for any activity. Their moisture-wicking fabric is going to be perfect for my labor-intensive days on the van build!
